Middlesbrough are finally set to replace Adama Traore, according to the Sun.

Traore was sold to Wolverhampton Wanderers in an £18 million deal earlier this month. And the newspaper claims it is a former Wolves winger, Huddersfield Town’s Rajiv van la Parra, who will fill his boots at the Riverside Stadium.

Van la Parra is said to be joining Middlesbrough on an initial loan deal that could turn into a permanent transfer if the Dutchman impresses on Teesside.

It comes after Tony Pulis, the Boro manager, missed out on a reunion with Yannick Bolasie, his former Crystal Palace player, who is expected to sign for Aston Villa instead.

Van la Parra moved to Huddersfield from Wolves two-and-a-half-years ago, and helped the Terriers into the Premier League in his first full campaign in Yorkshire.

And despite appearing regularly in last season’s top flight, the 27-year-old currently finds himself down the pecking order.

His arrival at Middlesbrough is likely to spark Marvin Johnson’s exit from the club, with Sheffield United and Hull City linked in recent weeks.

Can the former Wolves winger step in for a current one at Middlesbrough?
