Middlesbrough have not been put off by Nottingham Forest’s eight-figure asking price for Britt Assombalonga.
According to a report from The Sun, Middlesbrough are prepared to make an eight-figure offer for Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga.
The Daily Mirror recently reported that Forest wanted £15 million before they sanctioned a deal involving their star striker in the hope that it would put off the likes of Boro and Premier League side Burnley who were both interested.

But The Sun is now suggesting that Garry Monk’s men are ready to make that £15 million bid that would seemingly meet Forest’s asking price for the forward – seemingly in an attempt to make sure they beat the Clarets to his signature.
If Middlesbrough are able to bring the Forest striker to the Riverside Stadium, it would arguably provide a tremendous boost to their promotion hopes provided that they manage to keep the former Peterborough man fit.
Assombalonga has had a terrible run of luck when it has come to injuries, spending around 14 months on the sidelines at one stage, but there is no question that when fit, he is one of the most lethal strikers in the Championship.
He has scored 30 times in 65 second tier games for Forest, which arguably becomes a much more impressive tally when you consider how long he has spent on the sidelines in that time.
And Monk will be hoping, if their seemingly-imminent £15 million bid is accepted by Nottingham Forest, the 24-year-old can stay fit as he undoubtedly has the potential to justify such an amount being spent on him.
