Middlesbrough have allegedly enquired about Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu, as well as Stoke City attacker Bojan Krkic.
According to The Mirror, Middlesbrough have asked Everton about the possibility of signing winger Gerard Deulofeu during this month’s transfer window.
Boro have struggled to score goals this season, as they’ve found the net just 17 times in 19 league games this season, with only Hull City scoring fewer.
Whilst Boro’s defence has been solid, Aitor Karanka needs to bring in more attacking reinforcements this month, with the Daily Mail claiming that Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede is on the verge of a move to the Riverside Stadium.

The 28-year-old gives Karanka another centre forward, but he appears to be keen on adding more pace and creativity out wide, with The Mirror reporting that Middlesbrough have made their first move for Everton wide man Gerard Deulofeu.
Deulofeu, 22, hit two goals and eight assists last season, but has started just four league games under Ronald Koeman this season, and looks to be out of favour at Goodison Park, giving that he isn’t featuring even though winger Yannick Bolasie has been ruled out for up to a year.
Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu looks dejected
Everton may be willing to let Deulofeu leave in January, and Middlesbrough boss Karanka is believed to be a big fan, with Boro asking about a possible January deal for the Spanish winger.
Karanka already has one ex-Barcelona winger at his disposal in Adama Traore, but Deulofeu would give him another option in the final third – and Karanka may yet be looking for another product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy.
The report adds that Karanka has enquired about another fellow Spaniard, as he wants to snap up Stoke City playmaker Bojan Krkic, who has been in and out of Mark Hughes’ side so far this season.
The 26-year-old has still managed to hit three goals this season, and could bring some flair to Karanka’s side as Middlesbrough search for goals in the second half of the campaign.
