Middlesbrough are reportedly hoping to sign the wanted Liverpool youngster, as they prepare for the potential sale of a Wolverhampton Wanderers target.
Traore has been heavily linked with the Riverside Stadium exit during this window, and The Sun on Sunday reports that Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to bring him to Molineux for £18 million as Wolves gear up for their Premier League return. It must be noted that the former Barcelona youngster dislocated his shoulder in a pre-season friendly this week, so the severity of the injury may perhaps have an impact on a deal.
But should Traore end up leaving for Wolves, it appears that Boro have their eye on the Liverpool starlet, with Tony Pulis’ men in the driving seat ahead of Nottingham Forest and Reading for Ojo’s signature.
Replacing Traore is going to be a tough ask for Boro this summer. On his day, he was simply unplayable and made a number of Championship defenders look out of their depth with his frightening pace.
Ojo is not on that level at the moment, but Middlesbrough’s apparent willingness to pay £10 million and see off competition from the likes of Forest and Reading suggests that Pulis believes him to have the potential to ultimately fill the void that he seemingly expects Traore to leave before the window closes.
