Middlesbrough are reportedly leading the race to sign Nottingham Forest’s Britt Assombalonga.
After securing the signing of Danish striker, Martin Braithwaite, Middlesbrough have wasted no time in securing a deal for Garry Monk’s top target, Britt Assombalonga.
According to The Northern Echo, Boro have beaten the likes of Watford and Burnley to secure the signing of the highly rated Forest striker who scored 14 goals last season.

Watford had made an attempt to sign the 24-year-old and had offered an amount in the region of £10 million, as reported by The Northern Echo. However, Boro tabled an improved bid and have matched Forest’s asking price.
The report adds that Boro have agreed an outline fee in the region of £14 million for the 24-year-old striker. The final details of the agreement are still to be finalised, but Boro are confident that everything will be sorted out quickly.
Assombalonga is due to fly to England from Florida with the rest of the squad this morning. The striker is keen to resolve his future over this weekend.
Boro are willing to offer the striker a lucrative £60,000-a-week, and they are planning to hold talks with the striker’s representatives later on Friday.
