According to a report in the Northern Echo, Tony Pulis wants four or five players to leave Middlesbrough this month.

Boro have already sold Adam Forshaw to Leeds United, with the midfielder being announced at Elland Road yesterday, and his departure could be the first of many over the coming days.

Middlesbrough put together one of the Championship’s strongest squads over the summer, with their recruitment under Garry Monk impressive on paper.

However, Boro’s season has not gone according to plan so far, with the North East side sitting outside the play offs.

Pulis now wants to reshape his squad, and he is keen to see plenty of departures.

Boro could offload four more players over the coming weeks, with Pulis planning on a mini clear-out at the Riverside.

Middlesbrough are also thought to be keen to make additions to their squad, to bring in some added quality for the second half of the campaign.
