The Brentford winger could be at the centre of a tug-of-war between Middlesbrough and Hull City.
Brentford’s Jota in action
Middlesbrough are ‘in a battle’ with Hull City to sign Brentford winger Jota, The Sun reports in its printed edition on Wednesday (page 50).
It is claimed that Boro boss Garry Monk has already had a £4 million bid rejected by the Bees, and is ready to up that to £6 million while offering the player £35,000 a week to sign.

But Hull are said to have ‘joined the Jota hunt’ too, after the Spaniard continued his fine form from the second half of last season into the new campaign.
The 26-year-old returned from loan club Eibar in January and has since scored 12 goals and assisted eight in 24 appearances.
But Brentford have said it would take a ‘massive’ offer to tempt them into selling, despite Jota’s contract expiring next summer.
Both Middlesbrough and Hull were relegated from last season’s Premier League, and have each brought in a raft of new faces in search of an immediate return – although Boro’s £6 million net spend dwarfs that of the Tigers, who will be around £35 million in the black once Sam Clucas completes his £15 million transfer to Swansea City.
Given the choice, should Jota pick Middlesbrough or Hull City?
