The alleged West Ham United target could soon know where he will be playing next season.
According to a report from the Guardian, the future of Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi could be decided this week.
The Belgian international is currently part of his country’s squad for Euro 2016, but he has had to make do with a watching brief to date as Marc Wilmots’ side reached the first knockout stage without him.
According to the Guardian report West Ham’s £31million offer remains on the table despite being initially put to the French club back in May.
Juventus are also said to be interested and if Tottenham Hotspur opt not to make a bid of their own it could come down to a straight fight between the Hammers and the Serie A champions.
Batshuayi scored 23 goals and provided 10 assists in 50 matches for Marseille last season and with a contract until the summer of 2020 he was never going to come cheap.
That said, his current club desperately need a cash injection and they may not be able to turn their back on the huge sums currently being reported for their star man.
West Ham would love to have a player of Batshuayi’s quality at the club and with Dimitri Payet working behind him the pair could be brilliant at the Olympic Stadium next season and beyond.
