Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi allegedly wants to join Tottenham Hotspur.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea are demanding a huge £8million loan fee for Tottenham Hotspur to sign Michy Batshuayi – four times what they want from any other club.
Spurs look set to end the transfer window without any new signings, despite needing attacking reinforcements with Harry Kane and Dele Alli out injured.
There isn’t much time for Spurs to do any business, and it seems that any chance of signing Chelsea forward Batshuayi is also drifting away.
The Mirror report that Tottenham actually turned down Batshuayi earlier this week, but Chelsea are offering him out as they look to get him off the books.
It’s claimed that Batshuayi actually wants to sign for Spurs, but Chelsea are demanding a staggering £8million loan fee – despite only asking for £2million from everybody else.
Chelsea’s bitter rivalry with Spurs means that they are making stunning demands, and it seems that it will price Batshuayi out of the move he wants after years of being linked with Tottenham.
West Ham and Real Betis have explored a deal for Batshuayi, but his £170,000-a-week wage demands have scuppered a move, and a switch to Spurs also seems unlikely now.
Batshuayi, 25, is now in no-man’s land, having hit just three goals in 23 games on loan at Valencia this season in a dismal spell, and looks set to miss out on a deadline day move.
