According to the London Evening Standard, Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is likely to leave the club on loan this summer – and West Ham United are back in the market for his signature.
Batshuayi, formerly of Standard Liege, hit 17 goals in 36 Ligue 1 games for Marseille last season, and his exploits earned him a big money move to Chelsea last summer.
Viewed as cover and competition for Diego Costa, the 23-year-old was seen as an important signing for the Blues, but he has so far endured a nightmare spell in West London.
Batshuayi has yet to even start one Premier League game, making 16 substitute appearances, with just the one goal to his name. He has though shown his quality with in five cup games, scoring five goals – but he could leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
The London Evening Standard report that Batshuayi is now likely to leave Chelsea on loan at the end of the season, and whilst a number of clubs would be interested in such a deal, West Ham United are believed to be keen.
The Hammers were looking to sign a big-money striker last summer, with Batshuayi a target, but they ultimately lost out to London rivals Chelsea and their greater financial power.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic even hinted to the club’s official website back in October that he did have an interest in Batshuayi, but couldn’t compete with Chelsea.
A loan move could suit all parties; West Ham get the striker they want without breaking the bank, Batshuayi gets the first-team football he desperately wants, and Chelsea can keep a top young striker on the books for the future without frustrating him any longer.
