Michael O’Halloran is back in Scotland seven months after leaving Rangers, according to the Sun.
O’Halloran swapped Ibrox for Melbourne City’s AAMI Park in June, having spent two-and-a-half years on Rangers’ books.
The 28-year-old forward signed up until summer 2020 with the A-League side, but has now been released after seven months and three appearances – totalling 78 minutes of football.
The Scottish Sun reports that O’Halloran’s availability is ‘likely to alert plenty’ of Rangers’ Scottish Premiership rivals – adding that he could be offered a return to St Johnstone by the Perth side’s manager, Tommy Wright.
O’Halloran played 38 times for Rangers, whose rivals, Celtic, he has supported throughout his life, and scored or made nine goals.
And it is perhaps fair to say he has not been missed by Steven Gerrard’s side, who are level on points with the Bhoys at the top of the Premiership standings.
