West Bromwich Albion are on the look out for a replacement for Alan Pardew.

Appleton is currently Claude Puel’s assistant at Leicester City, but West Brom feel he could be the perfect appointment to replace Alan Pardew.
Appleton knows West Brom well, having represented them as a player, and formed part of their backroom staff at the beginning of his coaching career.

Appleton also had a good level of experiencing of managing in the Football League, having taken the lead at the likes of Blackpool, Blackburn Rovers and Oxford United.
West Brom are almost certain to be playing Championship football next term, so a boss with good knowledge of the Football League will be imperative.

Appleton is now thought to be among the leading candidates to land the job at the Hawthorns.
However, Mick McCarthy, who has also been linked, is said to not be under consideration.
McCarthy is set to leave Ipswich Town at the end of the season, but West Brom’s board are concerned that his links with Wolverhampton Wanderers would mean that his appointment would not be welcomed.
