Report: Metz make striker plans in resignation of losing £18m Tottenham target Habib Diallo

According to Footmercato, FC Metz are keen to strike a new deal with Ibrahima Niane as they resign themselves to selling Tottenham Hotspur target Habib Diallo.

Diallo has been heavily linked with a Metz exit with speculation starting in January.

His agent told APS of Tottenham’s interest earlier this year, saying: “Already last January, there was an offer from Tottenham. Now he has received an exit offer and, as soon as the European markets open, (his departure) should be settled.”

La Semaine claimed last month how Spurs were leading the race for his signature, while Metz valued Diallo at £18 million with Leeds United also interested.

Since those reports, not much has happened in the race for the Senegalese striker.

But the latest reports from Footmercato claim Metz are preparing for his exit.

The French editorial say the Ligue 1 club are keen to tie Ibrahima Niane down to a new contract, as they see the 21-year-old as Diallo’s replacement.

Tottenham must look at strengthening their attacking options this summer.
