Report: ‘Meticulous’ manager Levy has already spoken to is now Tottenham’s No.1 target

A report has now claimed that Oliver Glasner has become Tottenham Hotspur’s primary target to become their next manager.

It was claimed on Tuesday that Daniel Levy had already spoken to the Eintracht Frankfurt boss over potentially appointing him.

As Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique’s arrivals seemed to have been ruled out, Oliver Glasner may currently be Tottenham Hotspur’s dream manager target.

Leading Frankfurt to Europa League triumph last season, Glasner also managed to ensure that the club compete in the knockout rounds of the Champions League this campaign for the first time in their history, whilst his side are also in the DFB Pokal final.

As the German side are in eighth place in the league after their 11^th placed finish in the previous term, he has rightly been lauded, with Niko Kovac branding him as ‘meticulous’ and immensely analytical via the Bundesliga website.

Now, Football Transfers have reported that Oliver Glasner has impressed Tottenham to the extent that he has emerged as their No.1 manager target.

However, it has been clarified that the talks that have occurred so far have not led to anything advanced so far.

HITC View: Glasner to Spurs is the right fit

Much like Mauricio Pochettino at the time, Oliver Glasner is a relatively young manager and is also working his way up as Tottenham are expected to gradually build before competing for major honours.

The Austrian coach, much like the Argentine also relies quite a lot on a counter-press based system.

However, unlike Pochettino, Frankfurt press in a much more measured manner, rather than the gung-ho style that typified the former’s Spurs sides.

In addition, Glasner also embraces positional play, which has become the tactical zeitgeist in the modern day due to Guardiola’s staggering influence on the game.

The 48-year-old’s tactical flexibility, ability to thrive despite having a shoe-string budget and win trophies against all odds makes him the perfect fit at Tottenham from the sounds of things so far.
