According to Calciomercato, agent Jorge Mendes has met with AC Milan to discuss a potential exit for striker Rafael Leao amid links to Everton.

It’s claimed that Mendes met key Milan executives in a hotel just a matter of days ago, with numerous offers thought to be arriving for Leao.

The report adds that ‘all the clues lead to the Premier League’, with Wolves and Everton keen on a deal that would have to top €30million (£26million).

Everton’s interest in Leao

Fans will remember Leao’s name being linked with Everton from his time at Lille, and his name isn’t going away even now.

Everton were linked again back in April, and with another forward needed this summer to support Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Leao could fit the bill.

His price tag has crashed since that report, with Leao ending the season on six goals and six assists in 30 Serie A outings.

Nuno could have a say

Wolves had long been interested in Leao too, when they were managed by Nuno – the man expected to become Everton manager.

Nuno obviously has ties to agent Mendes, and when you piece that all together, a move to Goodison Park does make sense.

Leao, once branded ‘the Portuguese Mbappe’, still has real potential at 22, and is the sort of signing Everton need; versatile, young, quick – and Nuno should know all about him having shown an interest before.
