According to The Sun, Derby County owner Mel Morris wants £60 million to sell the club.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Morris turned down an offer of £50m for Derby from an American consortium.

The report has also claimed that the American consortium flew in to strike a deal, but Morris then said that he wanted £10m more than what they were prepared to pay.

Promotion challenge

Derby are one of the biggest clubs in England, but the Rams have been stuck in the Championship for a while now.

During the 2018-19 campaign, under now Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, Derby reached the Championship playoff final, but they lost the big game at Wembley Stadium in London to Aston Villa.

The Rams are among the clubs challenging for promotion again this season, but things are not going so well at the moment.

Phillip Cocu’s side are currently 13th in the Championship table at the moment with 15 points from 11 matches, as many as five points behind sixth-placed Bristol City.
