The Aberdeen defender, reportedly on the Hoops’ radar last summer, is now said to be sought after by Stoke City and other Championship teams.

It’s transfer deadline day, which means plenty of nerves for fans of clubs who have highly rated players, and Aberdeen is one such team.
Scott McKenna has been subject of speculation for months now, with Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic having seen a £3.5million bid for him turned down last summer, according to BBC Sport.
Since then, the Dons defender has gone from strength to strength and even last summer was valued by his club at £10million, as written by the Daily Record, but with the club doing so well at present, they may not even want to sell him for even more money as he’s such an asset to their cause.
According to a BBC Sport report from Wednesday evening, Stoke City of the English Championship have made their move and tabled in a bid for McKenna which has been rejected, the offer supposedly being less than the £5million tabled earlier in the day.

The Scottish Sun has also named Middlesbrough in the chasing pack, but with manager Derek McInnes reportedly thinking his player could go straight into the Premier League, not to mention bids lower than they value him, it looks like no-starters all round.
McKenna, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, is contracted to Aberdeen until the summer of 2023 (BBC Sport), all the more reason for the club not to let him go on the cheap – if at all.
