According to Calcio Mercato, AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang has asked for time to think about a possible move to Everton after an €18million (£15.7million) fee was agreed.

The Toffees are pressing ahead with moves to sign Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen and Malaga forward Sandro Ramirez, as reported by Sky Sports.

However, manager Ronald Koeman and Director of Football Steve Walsh will also want more additions ahead of the club’s return to the Europa League, and Walsh has been in Italy to discuss deals with Serie A clubs.

Now, Calcio Mercato report that Everton have had a bid of €18million (£15.7million) accepted by AC Milan for the transfer of attacker M’Baye Niang, who had a trial with the Toffees in 2012.

Niang, 22, was with Caen in France when he trialled with Everton, having emerged as one of the top young talents in Europe – but he chose to join AC Milan, where he has scored just 12 times in 77 games.

The attacker has spent time out on loan with Montpellier, Genoa and most recently Watford, where he notched two goals and two assists in the Premier League before rejecting a permanent move to Vicarage Road.

Everton are now making their move to land Niang and boost their attacking options, though it’s claimed that he has asked for time to think about the move and consider his options.

Given his patchy record across his career and his unfulfilled potential, Niang would be hard-pressed to find a better offer than with Everton, where Walsh is a huge fan having also tried to sign him with Leicester City in 2016.
