West Ham United are reportedly hoping to agree personal terms with Maxi Gomez over a potential move to the London Stadium.
According to a report from Sky Sports, Maxi Gomez wants to join West Ham this summer with the Hammers agreeing a £29 million fee with Celta Vigo for the striker.
Unsurprisingly, Manuel Pellegrini is looking to bolster his attacking ranks this summer. Marko Arnautovic was the only player to reach double figures in the Premier League last season with 10 goals, but Sky Sports reports that he has submitted a transfer request.
And it appears that it could be Gomez who replaces the Austrian at the London Stadium, should the latter leave. Sky Sports reports that the 22-year-old is keen to make the switch to the Premier League side with personal terms still to be discussed.
The report notes that the two clubs have agreed a £29 million fee for the youngster, who is also on Valencia’s radar this summer. Though Los Che are reportedly struggling to finance a move.
It would be a good piece of business for West Ham to win the race to sign Gomez. He has scored 30 goals across the last two campaigns in La Liga, and has the tenacity to become an incredibly popular figure amongst the Hammers.
And with Arnautovic reportedly deciding to make another attempt to head for the exit, Gomez’s desire to join the club this summer is likely to ensure that he strikes up an immediate connection with the club’s supporters who are fed up of their current forward changing his mind.
