Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks impressed over the early part of the campaign, but has rarely featured since injury.
Winks started this season in wonderful form, and established himself as a key member of their starting line-up.
The central midfielder shone after being given a chance, and even played a starring role when Tottenham took on Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
Winks impressed so much for Spurs that he forced his way into the England national team and was capped by Gareth Southgate.
However, Winks picked up an ankle injury, and he has still not fully recovered.
The midfielder has been available for weeks, but Pochettino has overlooked him to give Winks more time to rest.
Winks is set to find his game-time limited between now and the end of the season too, as Pochettino is keen not to worsen the youngster’s ankle problem.
And Winks’ place in the England squad for the World Cup is now under serious threat, with Southgate previously suggesting that no player would be selected unless they were featuring for their club side.
