Incoming Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly told his bosses not to sell Mason Mount amid interest from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
According to 90min, Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear to the Chelsea bosses that he wants Mason Mount to stay at the club.
Liverpool and Arsenal are keen on signing the England international midfielder in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Pochettino is “a huge fan of Mount and has made it abundantly clear to Chelsea that he wants to see a new contract handed to the academy graduate”.
According to 90min, former Tottenham Hotspur head coach Pochettino has decided to take charge of Chelsea and will sign the contract in the coming days.
Mason Mount could stay at Chelsea
In our view, Mauricio Pochettino could be able to stop Mason Mount – described as “tenacious” by former Chelsea player Tony Cascarino in The Times in March 2023 – from leaving the Blues in the summer transfer window.
If the Argentine boss is keen on the England international midfielder to stay at Stamford Bridge, then it is very likely that Chelsea bosses will get a deal done and satisfy Mount’s demands for a new contract.
Pochettino is going to build a team that can win titles and challenge for major trophies, and we believe that if he wants Mount, then the Chelsea bosses will have to make sure that the midfielder stays.
