Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is reluctant to send Josh Onomah back to Aston Villa, according to The Mirror.

Onomah spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Championship club Villa from Premier League club Tottenham.

The 21-year-old midfielder made 20 starts and 14 substitute appearances in the Championship last season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Tottenham manager Pochettino, though, is reluctant to send the youngster back on loan to Villa this season, as he was largely on the fringes towards the end of the season, according to The Mirror.

Loan move away

Onomah is a very good and talented young midfielder, but the 21-year-old – who earns £30,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – is not going to get much playing time at Tottenham this season.

It would make sense for the youngster to go out on loan again this campaign, but the club where he moves to should be ambitious and aiming for promotion or trophies.
