The Tottenham Hotspur star returned to action against Brighton last night.

According to a report from the Evening Standard, Mauricio Pochettino plans to bring Davinson Sanchez back into the starting line-up for Tottenham’s FA Cup clash with Manchester United on Saturday at the expense of Toby Alderweireld, despite the Belgian’s fine showing at Brighton last night.
Alderweireld’s future in north London remains unclear, with the 29-year-old’s extortionate wage demands proving to be a real problem for Spurs.

The Belgium international played his first game for Tottenham since February last night, and really impressed upon his return, with an assured display at the heart of the Lilywhites’ defence.
The Evening Standard claim that in spite of Alderwiereld’s return to fitness and form, Pochettino will opt to bring Davinson Sanchez back into the fold for Saturday’s FA Cup game.
They also go on to claim that Tottenham still plan on selling the centre-back in the summer, as long as they can recoup around £50 million for his services.

Alderweireld has a release clause of £25 million inserted into his current contract with Spurs – one that will be activated in the summer of 2019, so if the north Londoners want to obtain maximum value for the Belgian, they will have to sell him this summer.
And if Poch leaves him out of the side for Saturday’s FA Cup clash, his exit from the club will surely only be a matter of when and not if.
