The Tottenham Hotspur star has been heavily linked with an exit this summer.
According to a report from the Times, Tottenham could now be willing to sell Christian Eriksen for just £50 million to a foreign club before the end of the month.
The Dane has just 11 months remaining on his current contract with Spurs, and Daniel Levy will be very keen not to lose him for nothing next summer.
When Eriksen admitted in June that he was keen to explore a fresh challenge, the Mirror reported that Tottenham were demanding £130 million for his services.
The 27-year-old is still a Spurs player, however, and he can now only leave the club this summer if he joins a foreign team.
The Times claims that Tottenham have not given up on tying the midfield play-maker down to a new deal, but they will listen to offers in the region of £50 million for him.
Eriksen has been such an important player for Spurs over the last six years, and he demonstrated how much of an influence he can have for Mauricio Pochettino’s side when he came on as a second-half substitute against Aston Villa on Saturday.
Tottenham are in a difficult position, however. If a foreign club comes in with an offer in the region of £50 million before the end of the month, it will surely be hard for someone with the business acumen of Daniel Levy to turn it down.
