Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to be plotting a move for Manchester United’s Eric Bailly.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has told Bailly he can leave United, and Spurs are now keen to bring the centre-back to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham are competing with Arsenal for Bailly’s signature, with the £30 million defender (Daily Star) looking likely to leave Old Trafford this summer.
Spurs may hold an advantage over their London rivals, as United are interested in Alderweireld themselves.
It has been suggested that Bailly could be used in a swap deal with Tottenham for the Belgian, in a deal which could suit both parties.
Spurs can only bring in £25 million for Alderweireld if they trigger an extension in his contract which will extend his current deal for another year, which means he looks set to leave as things stand.

Alderweireld’s departure would be a huge blow to Spurs, as he has been a vital member of Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team over the past years.
But Pochettino is now making plans to replace Alderweireld, and Bailly is said to be the man he has identified as ideal for the role.
