New Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino could reportedly ask Mason Mount to stay.

According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool are interested in signing Mason Mount from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United have also been linked with the 24-year-old England international midfielder.

The report has claimed that Mount would be more expensive than Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse for Liverpool.

According to The Daily Mail, “it’s also possible new Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino asks him to see out the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge”.

What should Mason Mount do about his Chelsea future?

In our opinion, Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount should not rush into making a decision about his future.

We know that there have talks between Mount and Chelsea over a new contract, but things are going nowhere.

The midfielder is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of next season.

So, from a business perspective, it would make sense for the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners to cash in on the midfielder now.

However, if Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino wants to work with Mount next season, then the midfielder should seriously consider it.

If the Blues do not force the midfielder to leave in the summer transfer window and Pochettino wants him to stay, then Mount should really think about it.

After all, this time next year, Mount would be in ever more demand due to him being a free agent.
