Tottenham Hotspur appear to be closing in on another summer signing.

According to Argentine publication El Dia, Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino telephoned transfer target Juan Foyth at least six times in a bid to convince him to move to North London this summer.
Foyth’s countryman allegedly told the centre-back how long he had been tracking his progress and how highly he rated the 19-year-old and that is believed to have swayed the teenager’s decision.

Paris Saint-Germain and Zenit Saint Petersburg are also believed to have wanted Foyth this summer, but Pochettino’s intervention allegedly put Tottenham in the box seat.
The El Dia report also claims Foyth will travel to London today to complete his Tottenham move early next week.
That will be more good news for Tottenham fans who had grown restless this summer only to see a late flurry of transfer activity, with Paulo Gazzaniga and Davinson Sanchez secured and at least two more signings expected before Thursday’s deadline.

Foyth currently plays for Estudiantes and while he has only featured six times for the senior side it his performances for Argentina’s youngsters that has brought him into the public eye.
The teenager is expected to sign a five-year contract at Tottenham where he will be competing with Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Eric Dier for a starting spot in the heart of Spurs’ defence.
