The Polish side, Ruch Chorzow, have confirmed that Mateusz Bogusz has left their group to travel to Leeds United.

Bogusz has been strongly linked with a move to Elland Road this month, and his current employers say they have accepted Leeds’ offer for the player.

Ruch add that work is underway regarding a contract for Bogusz, who will now fly to England for a medical with the Whites – with tests due to take place on Monday.

The 17-year-old is an attacking midfielder with a reputation for scoring almost exclusively spectacular goals.

And the Yorkshire Evening Post reported this week that both Napoli and Brighton and Hove Albion have recently shown an interest.

Should his move to Leeds go ahead, he will become the third Polish player on the club’s books, after Mateusz Klich and Kamil Miazek.

However, he is not expected to feature in Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team plans right away.

Will Bogusz prove a shrewd addition for Leeds United?
