According to L’Equipe, Marseille are interested in striking a summer deal for Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

The Ligue 1 side are considering their options ahead of the summer window, with some departures expected.

Florian Thauvin is heading off to Mexico, and there are fears that homegrown talent Boubacar Kamara will be sold to raise funds.

Kamara is wanted by Liverpool according to Calciomercato, with his ability to play at centre back or in holding midfield no doubt appealing.

Marseille have begun looking at potential replacements for the 21-year-old in case he does leave, and are keen on Guendouzi.

The 22-year-old has been cast aside by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta this season as he was loaned out to Hertha Berlin in October.

Guendouzi clearly has talent, and has been branded a ‘big character’ and a ‘leader’ by Gary Neville in recent memory.

Arteta seemingly just doesn’t fancy the Frenchman, and that may mean that he is sold this summer in order to raise funds for Arsenal’s incoming business.

Marseille now offer Arsenal another potential suitor for Guendouzi, just in case Hertha don’t pursue a permanent move this summer.

A move back to France may also appeal to Guendouzi, who faces an uphill battle to save his Arsenal career under Arteta.
