Liverpool are interested in signing Mateo Kovacic and the Chelsea midfielder’s agents are impressed with the market for his signature.

Mateo Kovacic representatives impressed with market amid Liverpool interest

TEAMtalk report that Kovacic’s agents are assessing the market for his signature this summer.

It’s suggested that the level of interest has been strong and Kovacic’s agents are impressed with the potential exit routes.

Kovacic is allegedly appreciated strongly in the Premier League with Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United keen.

Kovacic has just over a year left on his contract and Chelsea don’t want to let him leave for nothing in 2024.

That means a summer sale could be on the cards if offers are made to Chelsea.

Talks over a new contract seemingly haven’t progressed and Premier League rivals could now launch a move for Kovacic.

Kovacic could be a midfield solution for Jurgen Klopp

It’s no great secret that Liverpool are seeking midfield additions this summer.

Links to Jude Bellingham have been strong but the Borussia Dortmund will be so expensive that alternative options must be considered.

Kovacic has plenty of Premier League experience under his belt and has great technical ability.

Kovacic maybe isn’t quite good enough defensively to be Liverpool’s new Georginio Wijnaldum, but maybe Jurgen Klopp has big plans for the Croatian.

Hailed as ‘incredible’ by West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, Kovacic has proven himself as a quality ball-carrier and passer in the middle of the park.

Kovacic should still have plenty in the tank as he prepares to turn 29, but Liverpool need fresh energy in the middle of the park.

We can’t quite see Kovacic as being exactly what Liverpool want right now and maybe a move to Manchester will be on the cards instead.
