Report: Massimo Cellino makes first Brescia sacking, considering appointing ex-Leeds United man

Former Leeds United owner has made his move in Brescia.

Brescia manager Roberto Boscaglia was really a dead man walking as soon as Massimo Cellino took over as owner in August, and now he has made his move.

Tuttomercatoweb report Cellino has fired Boscaglia and is working on appointing a replacement. SkySport Italia also report Cellino’s decision.

Cellino took over the Serie B side two months ago after selling his remaining 50 per cent stake in Leeds United in June.

He had sold the other 50 per cent to Andrea Radrizzani in January.

Cellino’s time at Leeds United saw him sack six managers in three years; Brian McDermott, Dave Hockaday, Darko Milanic, Neil Redfearn, Uwe Rosler, and Steve Evans.

At former club Cagliari he fired 36 managers in 22 years, earning him the reputation as ‘manager eater’ in Italy.

Now he has struck again, with Brescia sat in 16th place of 22 teams in Serie B, with two wins from eight games.

Tuttomercatoweb report Boscaglia’s sacking is potentially part of a double move.

Cellino is also claimed to be on the verge of dismissing sporting director Renzo Castagnini.

Among the names Cellino is considering replacing him with is former Leeds United sporting director Nicola Salerno, who worked at Elland Road for 18 months between 2014 and 2015.
