Massadio Haidara has not played for Newcastle United since January and is still awaiting his first Premier League appearance of the season.

Haidara – signed for £2.25 million in 2013, according to transfermarkt – has endured a difficult time at St James’ Park, only making 38 league appearances for the Magpies in the entire time that he has been with the club.

He is yet to appear in the league this season and has only made one appearance in all competitions – playing the full 90 minutes in the 3-0 FA Cup defeat to Chelsea back in January – and it appears that he may not get the chance to add to his appearance tally.
Transfermarkt shows that Haidara is out of contract with Newcastle at the end of the season, and the Northern Echo reports that the left-back is unlikely to agree fresh terms with the club with Rafa Benitez currently having his eye on Manchester United defender Luke Shaw.

Haidara’s imminent departure a shock?
It will come as little surprise to Newcastle fans that Haidara looks set to be on his way out of the club at the end of the season as it is probably more of a shock that he has not left St James’ Park already.
Paul Dummett has been excellent at left-back lately, so it seems highly likely that the Newcastle fans have already watched what will prove to be the 25-year-old’s final competitive appearance for the club.
