Everton are reportedly set to loan out Mason Holgate in January.

According to The Mirror, Everton have told defender Mason Holgate that he can go out on loan in January, with Premier League and Championship clubs already keen.
Holgate, 22, has been in and around the Everton first team for some time now, after Roberto Martinez swooped to land him from Barnsley in 2015.
The defender has even made five Premier League appearances this season having stepped in for the suspended Phil Jagielka earlier in the campaign, but hasn’t been seen at all since the 3-1 home defeat to West Ham United in September.
Yerry Mina, Michael Keane and Kurt Zouma are clearly Marco Silva’s top three centre backs, whilst Jagielka is also still available, meaning Holgate is sat on the sidelines at Goodison Park.
Now though, The Mirror report that Holgate will have the chance to depart in January, as Everton have allegedly told the centre back that he can go out on loan in the new year.

Premier League and Championship clubs are already thought to have registered their interest in signing Holgate, with director of football Marcel Brands already fielding enquiries.
A few months of guaranteed first-team football could be crucial for Holgate’s development before returning to Goodison Park next summer, rather than continuing to sit in the shadows.
