Everton are interested in appointing Martin O’Neill as their new manager, according to The Mirror.
It has been reported that the Republic of Ireland manager is one of the names on the Everton shortlist.
According to Sky Bet, the former Aston Villa and Sunderland boss is the favourite for the managerial role at Goodison Park with odds of 1/2.
O’Neill has been in charge of the Republic of Ireland national football team since 2013 and has done a wonderful job so far.
The former Nottingham Forest and Manchester City midfielder has extensive experience of managing in the Premier League.
The 65-year-old is a very good manager who knows how to get the best out of players and has worked with big-name footballers.
Appointing O’Neill is not a bad idea for Everton, but it remains to be seen if the former Northern Ireland international midfielder would be interested in the role.
Everton are struggling in the Premier League at the moment and have also been knocked out of the Europa League.
