Arsenal fans may be left disappointed as ESPN’s latest update on Martin Odegaard doesn’t make encouraging reading for them.
Arsenal have made a move to sign Odegaard from Real Madrid in recent days, but the player is said to be determined to join Real Sociedad.
The Norwegian spent last season on loan at Sociedad where he thrived, and a return to the La Liga side apparently appeals to him more than a move to Arsenal.
Indeed, the latest update says that Sociedad are very confident of wrapping up the deal, despite the Gunners’ late interest.
If Arsenal do fail to land Odegaard at this stage it will be a blow to Mikel Arteta’s side, as his potential arrival has really excited supporters.
Odegaard may not have played much at Madrid this term, but his performances previously in Spain have shown just how much talent he has.

Odegaard is a brilliant playmaker, who could inject even more creativity into Arsenal’s team.
The Gunners’ need for a number 10 has been reduced by the emergence of Emile Smith Rowe, and if they do miss out on Odegaard, it could be difficult for them to find a player of a similar quality in their price range.
