Brighton and Hove Albion have reportedly beat Fulham to the signing of the Valencia full-back.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Valencia full-back Martin Montoya has opted to join Brighton and Hove Albion, having rejected the chance to link up with Fulham.
Chris Hughton was thought to be on the look-out for full-back reinforcements this summer, and Montoya could be just the ticket for the Seagulls.
The 27-year-old is a right-back by trade, but he can also operate in the left-back position if required to do so.
He is vastly experienced in playing at the very highest level, having spent so long with Barcelona before moving to La Mestalla two years ago.
Montoya will undoubtedly strengthen Brighton’s first-team, and bring a much-need level of winning experience to the south coast club.

At the same time though, Fulham will be extremely frustrated at missing out on the Spaniard, having been within touching distance of bringing him to Craven Cottage just hours earlier.
The deal is still yet to be confirmed, however, so Brighton fans will be keenly awaiting news from their club regarding Montoya before the 5pm deadline…
