Marseille and Monaco are now the two clubs most likely to sign Jordan Amavi from Aston Villa.

Marseille and Monaco are the two clubs now interested in signing Aston Villa’s Jordan Amavi, reports the Birmingham Mail, after a deal to join Sevilla fell through last month.

Both Villa and the Spanish club agreed a move for the 23-year-old, only for him to fail his medical – something which the Birmingham outfit strongly refuted.

Now interest in the Frenchman appears to be coming from back home, with the two Ligue 1 clubs taking a closer look at the defender.

Marseille are long-term admirers of Amavi and are keeping a keen eye on things, while Monaco have held talks with the full-back’s representatives.

However, Villans manager Steve Bruce admits that he won’t be too disappointed if the former France Under-21 international doesn’t go anywhere this summer.

“Hey, if I’m stuck with Jordan Amavi it isn’t a bad one. There are one or two you might have to sacrifice to bring in what you want,” Bruce said.

Amavi joined Villa in the summer of 2015 and was part of the team that was relegated from the Premier League that season. To date he has played 48 times for the club.
