Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka is under major pressure.

According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis could sack Aitor Karanka, with a couple of big-name managers in the frame.

Forest were 3-0 up at Norwich City today with less than 20 minutes to play, but somehow capitulated to draw the game 3-3 at Carrow Road.

That result leaves Forest just three points off the play-off places, but with no win in the last four games, Karanka may be under huge pressure.

The Daily Mail report that there has been some kind of fall-out with Forest players, and Marinakis is considering a change to try and reach the Premier League – despite many fans still being firmly behind the Spaniard.

It’s noted that the top target would likely be Slavisa Jokanovic, who was sacked by Fulham in November after a difficult start to the Premier League season.

The Serbian has won promotion to the Premier League twice, with Fulham and Watford, and could be an exciting appointment for Forest if such a deal was put together.

However, it’s added that ex-Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim is another potential target in what would be a blockbuster move given the huge clubs linked with him, but the Portuguese coach has previously worked with Marinakis at Olympiakos, meaning a reunion may not be entirely out of the question.

Having been 3-0 up, Forest players didn’t seem to be too unhappy with life under Karanka, and sacking the Spaniard may bring back instability to the City Ground after a host of managers have come and gone in recent years.
