Fulham are set to keep Marcus Bettinelli at Craven Cottage.

According to Sky Sports, Fulham are set to hand a new deal to goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli after he rejected interest from West Ham United.
The Cottagers had a busy summer, bringing in 14 new faces to boost Slavisa Jokanovic’s squad – including five arrivals on deadline day in August.
Two of the signings were Spanish goalkeepers, as Fulham signed Fabricio and highly-rated Sergio Rico from Besiktas and Sevilla respectively – but neither can get in the side right now.
Marcus Bettinelli was left out of the first two games of the season against Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur despite being between the sticks for much of last season’s promotion campaign, leaving him somewhat disgruntled.
Bettinelli has hit back though, starting the last two games and saving a penalty in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Brighton and Hove Albion, earning himself a call-up to the England squad.
The 26-year-old’s stock has risen hugely in recent weeks, and Sky Sports now report that Fulham are set to reward him with a new contract to keep him at Craven Cottage.

It’s noted that Bettinelli rejected both Chelsea and West Ham United this summer, and whilst signing Fabricio and Rico may have been a blow to his chances, he looks set for a bumper new contract.
That would end West Ham’s chances of signing Bettinelli once and for all, but with Lukasz Fabianski showing himself as one of their better summer signings, it may not be a disaster for the Hammers right now anyway, even if Bettinelli would have been ideal for the future.
