Marcus Antonsson is reportedly set to leave Leeds United for Malmo.
It has been reported that Leeds and Malmo have agreed on a transfer fee, and that the Swedish club are likely to unveil him in the next 48 hours.
Brescia, who are owned by former Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino, were also reportedly interested in the 27-year-old, who can also operate as a winger, but it seems that the former Kalmar FF striker is set to move to Malmo, who are managed by former Whites’ boss Uwe Rosler.
According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, Antonsson will become the 10th player to leave Leeds this summer.
Struggles at Leeds United
Antonsson joined Leeds from Kalmar in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post to be worth £2m.
The 27-year-old, though, struggled to make an impact at Elland Road, as the Swedish striker made just six starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Championship for Leeds during the 2016-17 season, scoring only one goal in the process.
During his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers last season, Antonsson scored seven goals in 22 League One starts.
With Antonsson having clearly failed to make an impact at Elland Road, it is not a bad decision for Leeds to be selling him this summer.
