Everton had tried to sign Marcos Rojo from Manchester United on deadline day, but Marco Silva’s side were unable to get a move over the line.

According to the Daily Mail, Marcos Rojo is angry at missing out on a move to Everton.

Everton convinced Rojo to make the move to Goodison Park, and he was fully prepared to make the last minute transfer.

However, United would not let the £16 million centre-back (BBC Sport) leave on loan, and Everton could not agree a price for a permanent deal.

Rojo has now been left in limbo, as it appears he has very limited first-team chances at Old Trafford, but he can no longer move to Everton.

The centre-back is said to be ‘furious’ that his move wasn’t sanctioned.

Rojo is not the only player gutted that they won’t be playing for Everton next season either.

The Telegraph have reported that Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace is also very disappointed that his move to Goodison Park didn’t go through on deadline day.

Missing out on Rojo could actually be very damaging for Everton, as they are so short at the back now.

Marco Silva had chased a centre-back all summer, but failed to get a move over the line.

It seems likely that Yerry Mina, who had a shaky first season in English football, will now be required to step into Everton’s starting line-up.
