Manchester United have apparently been told that Real Madrid left-back Marcelo is up for grabs, but he may have his heart set on a move to Italy.
It is being reported that Real Madrid are looking to push Marcelo out the door in order to fund a move for Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.
While Louis van Gaal is said to be keenest on Jordi Alba, he may consider Marcelo who will be surplus to requirements at Real if they can lure Alaba.
However, Sportmediaset suggests that Italian champions Juventus may present a complication.
The Italian website claims that Marcelo has admitted he would rather sign for the Bianconeri and is already looking forward to life in Serie A.
Juventus have made an excellent start to the season and their defence has looked very solid so far, but Massimiliano Allegri has had to deal with a defensive injury crisis that has left him short of options.
The Old Lady may well venture into the market in January to try and give them the reinforcements they need to maintain domestic and European ambitions, but whether they can afford Marcelo remains to be seen.
