Marcelo Gallardo is interested in becoming Chelsea manager just week after seemingly snubbing Leeds United.
The Blues are on the hunt for yet another new manager having sacked Graham Potter on Sunday.
Julian Nagelsmann appears to be the favourite but Chelsea are considering other candidates.
Luis Enrique is likely to be one of them but the Blues may now need to give some thought to Marcelo Gallardo too.
The Independent report that Gallardo wants to become Chelsea manager.
It’s stated that Gallardo has put himself forward for the job in a fascinating development.
Gallardo is seeking around £10million-a-year in his next job after a trophy-laden stint as River Plate boss.
Gallardo’s lack of experience managing in Europe may count against him here but he has given Chelsea something to think about in the coming days.

Marcelo Gallardo was Leeds United dream candidate
It’s hard not to be impressed with Gallardo’s track record.
The 47-year-old racked up 14 trophies at River including two Copa Libertadores titles and one league title in 2021.
Gallardo now seems ready to manage in Europe and has been very selective in terms of his next job.
Many clubs haven’t been able to tempt him and one of them was Leeds United.
iNews reported in February that Gallardo was the top choice for Leeds after sacking Jesse Marsch.
The Telegraph even suggested that Leeds saw Gallardo as the true heir to Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.
Gallardo played under Bielsa for Argentina and took some of his principles into his own coaching career.
That made Gallardo something of a dream candidate for Leeds but he just wasn’t interested.
A relegation battle with Leeds didn’t appeal but the Chelsea job seems to be more to Gallardo’s liking.
Whether that interest is reciprocated by the Blues remains to be seen but Leeds could end up seeing Gallardo managing in the Premier League after missing out on him.
