Leeds United are interested in signing Nicolas Tagliafico from Ajax in the summer of 2021, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa wants to sign a new left-back, and has identified his Argentine compatriot as his ‘ideal signing’.

The report has claimed that the Premier League club are now working on a move for the 28-year-old Argentina international left-back.

Good signing for Leeds United?

Stuart Dallas has done well at left-back despite being a winger by trade, and so has Ezgjan Alioski, who is out of contract at Leeds at the end of the season.

For Leeds to have an even better season in the Premier League in 2021-22, they need to sign a specialised left-back.

Tagliafico is a very good and experienced left-back who has played 28 times for Argentina and regularly plays in European competitions.

Signing the left-back would make Leeds better and would be a statement of intent of sorts.

However, it could cost Leeds quite a bit in transfer fee for Tagliafico, as Ajax are unlikely to sell him on the cheap.

According to WhoScored, the 28-year-old has scored one goal and provided two assists in 22 Eredivisie game this season, and he also played six times in the Champions League and five times in the Europa League.
