According to Globo Esporte, Brazilian giants Santos are in talks with Marcelo Bielsa about becoming their new manager.
Bielsa, of course, has been out of work since February when he was sacked from Leeds United.
Since then, El Loco has headed back to Argentina to spend time with his family, and now, he could make the short trip over to Brazil to manage Santos.
At the age of 67, many wondered whether or not Bielsa was finished with management at the top level, but he’s been offered a route back into the beautiful game by Santos.

On the surface, this is exactly the type of job that would appeal to Bielsa. After all, Santos are one of the most historic football teams on the planet, and Brazil is one of the only countries in South America where Bielsa hasn’t managed.
This job could be the perfect final outing for one of South American football’s most important figures, and interestingly, there’s also a link back to Leeds here.
Indeed, just this summer the Whites were linked with a move for Santos youngster Renyer, and if Bielsa takes that job, his future could lie in the old Leeds boss’ hands.
Whether or not Bielsa taking the Santos job will give Leeds a better chance of landing the young Brazilian is up for debate, but one thing is for sure, a season or two of schooling from Bielsa would make Renyer a much better fit for Leeds United if they are to return for the prodigious Brazilian talent.
Regardless of what Bielsa joining Santos would mean for that particular rumour, it would be fantastic for football if the Argentine got back into management one more time before deciding to call time on his career.
