According to a report in the Liverpool Echo, Marcel Brands is a big fan of Watford’s Richarlison.

Brands had reportedly scouted Richarlison even before he moved to Watford last summer, and the new Everton director of football is said to remain an admirer of the attacker’s talents.

Richarlison enjoyed a wonderful first season at Watford, although his best form came when Marco Silva was in charge of the Hornets.

Silva has taken over at Everton now, which has led to rumours that the Brazilian could make a move to Goodison Park for £40 million, as reported by The Sun.

It has been suggested that Watford will not do business with Everton, because they are still angry at the way Silva left them last term.

However, Richarlison may well remain a target of the Toffees’ with Brands and Silva both fans.

Everton are keen to tap into the market for South American players more frequently, as Brands feels it is an area that his new side can exploit.
