Several Newcastle United are hoping that Graeme Jones is given full charge at St. James’ Park until the end of the season, the Daily Mail suggest.
Steve Bruce has just come under more pressure as Newcastle boss, after a reported fall out with Matt Ritchie on the training ground.
Many of Newcastle’s players believed to have sided with Ritchie over the disagreement and now there are said to be a number of the squad who want a change in management.
Jones has only recently arrived on Tyneside, but has quickly been credited for his coaching skill.
And a number of players in Newcastle’s squad apparently want the 50-year-old to take outright charge.

Whether Mike Ashley will dispose of Bruce after the latest development still remains to be seen, but it will leave supporters’ calls for him to grow even louder.
Newcastle would be taking a big risk putting Jones in sole charge, if they were to grant their players’ wishes.
The Magpies are currently far from clear of relegation and Jones only has limited managerial experience, having taken charge of Luton Town in 2019.
