The former Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini, is interested in holding talks with Leicester City and Everton, according to Sky Sports.

Both clubs are looking for a new boss after sacking Craig Shakespeare and Ronald Koeman respectively this month.

And appointing Pellegrini, a Premier League and two-time League Cup winner at City, could appeal to the pair.

Pellegrini is currently in charge of Hebei China Fortune, however – a position he has held since August 2016, having replaced the former Everton midfielder Li Tie – and has two years left on his contract.

According to Sky Sports, Hebei would want a significant sum in compensation top part with the Chilean, whose wages are said to be higher than Leicester and Everton have ever paid for a manager.

Pellegrini has also managed Malaga, Real Madrid and Villarreal – with whom he ended Everton’s Champions League hopes 12 years ago – since moving to European football in 2004 from River Plate.

Sky Sports adds that the Burnley manager, Sean Dyche, remains a front runner for both Leicester and Everton.
