Liverpool are said to have earmarked the West Ham United star as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho.
It is claimed that negotiations over an improved deal began four months ago, with West Ham said to have been willing to increase Lanzini’s earnings from £35,000-a-week to £50,000-a-week.

But with new signings Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez reported to earn more than double that – and amid alleged interest from other clubs including Liverpool – the Hammers appear to seen their hand forced.
And according to The Sun, Lanzini will finally commit to Slaven Bilic’s side, and sign on for another five years at the London Stadium.
It is claimed that Liverpool have been tracking the Argentine since January, with the Reds are said to have earmarked him as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who has been the subject of bids from Barcelona.
The new deal for Lanzini – who has scored 15 goals and created another seven since moving to West Ham two years ago, initially on loan – would see him collect £4.42 million per year.
Is Lanzini’s new deal a coup for West Ham, given Liverpool’s alleged interest?
