Report: Manchester United’s Scott McTominay wanted on loan by Leeds United and others

Leeds United, Bolton Wanderers and Preston North End are the latest clubs linked with a move for Manchester United’s McTominay.

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is wanted on loan by Leeds United and four other clubs including Bolton Wanderers and Preston North End, the Sun reports.

McTominay is said to be highly regarded by Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, who has used him on five occasions this season.

But the report claims that Leeds, Bolton and Preston have all been alerted by the possibility that he could be loaned out to boost his first team experience.

Nevertheless, it adds that McTominay’s exit may yet be put on hold amid concerns over Michael Carrick’s fitness and the future of Marouane Fellaini, who is out of contract at the end of the campaign and is aid to have interest himself.

A Manchester United source is quoted as telling the Sun: “Around five clubs have already asked about Scott and whether he will be available when the window opens.

“Jose has promised to keep him in the loop. He wants him to get action, but there are issues in that area which might stop it.”

Leeds head coach Thomas Christiansen was spotted among Manchester United supporters during Sunday’s derby defeat against Manchester City.

But Christiansen, whose side have already loaned McTominay’s Red Devils teammate Cameron Borthwick-Jackson this season, later explained: “My son wanted to see Man City play, I used to play at Barça with Pep and we very much enjoyed the result! However, I’m Leeds!”
